Triple-Opening Hood Hinge/Latch Kit

Customer demand for a latch kit that allowed access to either side of the engine led to the development of this latch kit. For years, rodders have had to settle for being able to get to only one side of the engine. The Triple Opening Hood Hinge/Latch Kit has changed all that.
     The Triple Opening Hood Hinge/Latch Kit allows the hood to be opened from either side. By releasing each side, the hood can be removed and reinstalled in seconds.
     Made from satin-finished aluminum, the hinge kit adds a pleasing appearance to the engine compartment. All pull rods and prop rods (one for each side) are stainless steel,with aluminum pull knobs for each side under the dash.
     An easily installed warning switch mounts under the dash. When wired to the ignition switch, it signals a light or beeper to remind you to latch your hood.
     Kits for steel and glass hoods come in 36" and 42" lengths to allow you to trim to fit. Select year and make/model of your hood from the pulldown menu below when ordering. Instructions, stainless screws for mounting, and brackets for attaching side panels are included.

Stainless hood props and release rods are included with all kits.

Our kits feature a milled slot to hold the prop rod when not in use. This avoids using spring clips that might break and drop the prop rod.

Steel Single Opening Hood Latch Kit

Our steel single opening kit give the customer the ability to choose which side he prefers to open by rotating a few parts to make it right or left opening or the entire top can be removed easily. Kits are available in 36" and 42" to allow you to trim to fit. Select year and make/model of your car from the pulldown menu below when ordering. Stainless prop rod, pull rod, screws, and brackets for attaching side panels are included.

Hood Brace Kits

Some hoods may benefit from reinforcing when a hinge/latch kit is installed. Two types of braces are available. Steel braces are made from 3/8" cold-rolled steel and have slotted mounting pads. Satin finish aluminum braces are machined from aluminum plate stock (not a casting) and feature machined cut-out holes for lightening and visual enhancement. Screws and instructions are included.

Hood-top-only Latch Kit

This latch kit is for those who want to run a hood top and no side panels. When installed, the latches are out of sight up under the hood top - nothing hangs down below the edge of the hood. Latches are spring-loaded - just the lay the hood in place, press down and the hood latches. It features easy to reach release knobs - no screws to turn to remove the hood. Made from all aluminum with stainless latches. Kits come in 36" and 42" lengths to allow trim-to-fit.
